Investment company SEBRE enters into AVALA Studios Beograd in Serbia – the oldest and largest film-making company in former Yugoslavia. The goal of the AVALA Studio Beograd project is to build new Hollywood-type modern film studios that could be used by complicated and demanding projects not only by the Serbian movie industry but also by foreign productions.

The current AVALA Studios concept strives to put Serbian cinematography back to the forefront, not only in Serbia but also internationally, and to attract significant foreign producers to the Serbian capital.

AVALA STUDIOS BEOGRAD
The beginnings of the Avala Films studio date back to shortly after the second world war, specifically to 1946. The studio became one of the most significant brands of Serbian culture. Its “golden age” lasted from the beginning of the sixties up to 1991, that is until the breakup of Yugoslavia. Over this time period AVALA studios produced 220 feature movies and 430 documentaries.
Movies produced by AVALA studios won over 200 awards from national and international festivals. The most famous ones include award-winning I Even Met Happy Gypsies (Skupljači perja from 1967), which among other awards won the Grand Prize of the Jury at the Cannes Film Festival in 1967, or Early Works (Rani radovi, from 1969) that won the Golden Berlin Bear at Berlinale in 1969. During this period, Belgrade become an important player in the world of cinematography.

The SEBRE investment group was founded in 2013. It is managed by its chief executive officer Jan Kubíček.
SEBRE is active in several areas, including Development, Gastronomy, and Cinematography. In Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic, it is currently building two administrative buildings, and in Belgrade it is finishing an apartment building. As far as gastronomy is concerned, it is the exclusive distributor for Pilsner Urquell Brewery, a.s., in Serbia and one the investors of Pivnica Gvožđara 1870. In cinematography it is newly entering into the AVALA film studios in Belgrade.
